The Iranian Journal of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology (IJAAI), an international peer-reviewed scientific and research journal, seeks to publish original papers, selected review articles, case-based reviews, and other articles of special interest related to the fields of asthma, allergy, and immunology. The journal is an official publication of the Iranian Society of Asthma and Allergy (ISAA), which is supported by the Immunology, Asthma, and Allergy Research Institute (IAARI) and published by the Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS). The journal seeks to provide its readers with the highest quality materials published through a process of careful peer reviews and editorial comments. All papers are published in English.
The IJAAI uses the World Association of Medical Editors’ definition of editorial freedom and is a member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The journal adopts COPE’s guidelines upon encounter with ethical misbehavior.
In the Iranian Journal of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology (IJAAI), all manuscripts are considered confidential. They are peer-reviewed by at least 2 anonymous reviewers selected by the Editorial Board (section editor). The corresponding author will be notified of the editor’s decision regarding acceptance or rejection of the manuscript or requiring modifications. An accepted manuscript is scheduled for publication in the next upcoming issue(s).
Fast-track Review and Fast-publishing Options
It is sometimes necessary for authors to meet publication deadlines, such as for promotion and tenure, thesis defenses, grant proposals, spending of research funds before a specified deadline, or publishing follow-up papers.
IJAAI offers fast-track publication and review, which aims at providing extra-fast review and publication without compromising quality when a quick decision is required especially for papers with public health needs. In order to guarantee a quick turnaround, we offer fast-track review and fast-publication fees (please see the publication fees’ table).
If you choose fast-track review and premium publishing, you are guaranteed:
Some important points:
To fast-track a submission, please email (ijaai@tums.ac.ir) or call/give a massage to Mrs. Aylin Mardanpour, the financial manager and journal’s technician.
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
Authors must state that the protocol for the research project has been approved by a suitably constituted Ethics Committee of the institution within which the work was undertaken and that it conforms to the provisions of the Declaration of Helsinki in 1995 (as revised in Edinburgh 2000). All studied subjects should be completely informed about the procedure and informed consent should be obtained from all participants. The journal reserves the right to request the related documents.
It is mandatory for all research manuscripts submitted to IJAAI, to upload the Ethics committee Approval Letter as a supplementary file and to mention the Ethical Approval Code in the “materials and methods” or “acknowledgment” section of the manuscript.
The clinicians, who conduct a clinical trial on human subjects and wish to publish the results of their investigations in this journal, should have obtained permission for their clinical trial from the Iranian Registry of Clinical Trials (IRCT) or other well-known clinical trials registries. IRCT number is mandatory for research performed in Iran. The necessary condition for the registry of clinical trial studies in IRCT is obtaining the Ethics committee Approval Letter from an "Ethics Committee in research" accredited and approved by the "Secretariat of the National Committee for Ethics in Biomedical Research, Deputy of Research & Technology of Iran Ministry of Health & Medical Education. The ethics committee approval code should be mentioned in the “Materials and methods” or “acknowledgment” section of the manuscript.
